Coleus as a planting

tak Nov 26, 2004 11:14 AM

Hi, my Veileds have been doing fine, after quite a bit of learning. I just raised 21 babies with silkworms, which I'm also getting the hang of.

Question: Do we think Coleus works OK as a planting? It's pretty fast growing, and easy to propigate. I'd like to use it, and I don't think it's toxic. Am I right? Thanks

Congrats on your hatchlings and silkies!

yes, coleus' are non-toxic. They are not very strong stemmed though and may snap easily, but for youngsters it may be OK. They do come in such a wonderful variety of colors and leaf shapes - have fun!
