Need advice about LCD in general and resizing issues

Alley_cat Nov 26, 2004 12:37 PM

Hi there people!
I wish to buy an LCD screen to save space on my desk and to assist my eyes a bit.
I read some technical information and combining it with the financial issues I've narrowed my searchers for two options:
CMV CT712A: http://www.cmv.com.tw/en/product.asp?pid={013F0D80-DA6E-4377-BD3E-8C03789DFCB8}
or
CMV CT722: http://www.cmv.com.tw/en/product.asp?pid={AAD6D4B5-F383-4B78-BDD8-17641D22BC00}

Both of these monitors are good priced and have a rather low response time.
I did hear though that there is a problem with the RESOLUTIONS with LCD displays, that lowering the resolution can corrupt or distort the way I see things when not using the native resolution (which is always 1280 x 1024 on 17 inch monitors as far as I can tell). I play most of my games at 1024 X 768 or 800 X 600.

Can anyone explain me a bit more about these problems, if they exist?
Does anyone have experience with these monitors and tell me about them? How well do they cope with those resolutions, especially in games?
Are these response time low enough in your opinion and experience?

I would be happy to know any thing you might have to say since I want to collect all the information I can gather about LCD screens before I spend a rather large sum of money on a monitor I will only be disappointed of...
Thank you!

i think u got the wrong time of monitor forum but anyway i would go with the 712 becuase of its lower responce time and just run your games at 12x10 as long as u got the hardware to back that if u need a new videocard i would sugest the 6800gt

and again this is a forum about the monitor lizards not computer monitors
