San Francisco Herping

I will be going to san francisco aug 12-19(missing daytona im so pissed) i was hoping to find some places to go herping while im up there my uncle lives in the san francisco area and i was hoping to find some places to see rattlesnakes or any snake for that matter. Im really mad about daytona but am hoping to have some great herping in california.

Hi. I'm Zach and I live in San Francisco. There isn't much in the city (maybe a salamnder or two under backyard rocks). If you have the time, have someone go with you to Pacifica and go to the Archery Range near Sharp Park. There are plenty of garter snakes, ribbons (or is it a racer? dark bown with stripe down middle), newts, gopher snakes, etc, Good luck-Zach

Try Mount Diablo. North end....theres tons of em so bring a hook.. a little crowded with joggers and the like, but you might save some fine lookin jogger from gettin bitten by a 3 footer....we did (heh heh)....you never know.....
