Help in identifying

I just came back from a snake show with every intention of getting a Jungle Carpet Python and in all the excitement between 2 vendors, I didn't double check to see if the snake I picked because of it's pattern is actually a Jungle Carpet or just a Jungle! Could someone let me know what this actually is? It was labeled as a Jungle python. Thanks in advance!

Jungle python would still be a Jungle Carpet Python. Cute little guy too. It's like many Coastal Carpet Pythons simply being referred to as Carpet Pythons or sometimes Queensland Carpet Pythons.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if a Jungle was a shortened term for a cross between a jungle carpet or if it was just a specific type like a carpet. I liked the pattern a lot so I kinda forgot about looking at the label, my bad. He's a cute little guy, but so far, has the personality of a pit viper. Strikes at everyting that moves and some things that don't. I've been trying to get him used to my hands near him and have about 12 bite marks all over my hands to prove it. It's been a week now and he seems to be calming down a little, only strikes when I use my fingers, not the back of my hands. He ate 3 pinkies today so I know he's comfortable. Thanks again.

He's neat, looks like a jungle carpet to me. i have read that babies are nippy when young. i was fortunate to have gotten mine when she was a yearling at least so was out of the bitting stage. also the biggest thing folks talk about is switching them to rats as soon as possible or you could end up with a 6-8 foot 15-20 mice eating machine instead of 1-2 large rats. Enjoy!

Thanks for the tip. I have quite a few snakes, and never had any have any problems switching over to rats. I'll have to remember to start getting rat pups ASAP. I just bought about 150 of them at the show, so hopefully they'll go fast and the rat pups can be switched over then. With any luck, He'll turn into a nice yellow and dark pattern as he gets older. Not sure though. Even if not, I still like the stripes on him now. Thanks again.
