Seems to be female judging by the short tail and short claws. Are you sure that it is a RES? If it is I've never seen the yellow that bright and the shell seems a little dark.
I diden't think i was but the people told me it was on the turtle what is this site. Here is a pic of it without the butt.

That turtle is a RES. It's just has a diffrent color form the ones I've seen or had. That is the same turtle in all the pics right?
I belive so, but it could be the other one. But they are the same kind so yeah. Its hard to tell them apart. I now belive one is a m and the other one is a f. Never seen any mating though.
In that pic, the turtle above the RES looks like a painted from the plastron and the front foot. Do you have any pics of that one?

it is a res look at orange coloring by his eyes you have a pretty turtle and yes some come out with dark shells..so dont worry about it... this is how you tell if the close are short girl.. and if their hole on the tell is closer to the shell its a girl and if its out alot more its a boy
oops i mean claws are shorter than boys...
