Taylor is a very friendly yearling!
Taylor is a very pretty lizard!! How do you like raising a Rhino? When was Taylor hatched? He looks just a tad small to me for a yearling. Of course, I've been accused of raising some monster babies! LOL Here is a photo of Nivea at about 10 months. When I purchased her in Daytona she was sadly way underweight and dehydrated. She gained weight quickly and filled out really nice. She weighs approximately 600 grams in this photo.
Do you handle Taylor every day? Does he still have that flight response when you try to pick him up?
What and how much are you feeding your animals to get them to grow so big?
I feed mine as much of the green leafies like collards, mustard, turnip greens, dandelion, escarole and chicory. I also feed minced carrots, squashes, parsnips, green beans but he always picks out the greens even if I put the other stuff on top. I also dust the food sometimes with www.cricketfood.com 's salad topper. It is great stuff for them and he LOVES it. I think he eats more when that stuff is on it than when it is not. He also likes the fruit flavored calcium (cant remember who makes it and too lazy to go look) so he wolfs the food when either of those two things are present. To a lesser extent he gets soaked rep-cal iguana pellets but only if he eats the greens first. He has had I think one or two supers his whole life and for haha's this morning I threw a cricket in there. He loved it but I dont feed them to him normally.

PS sometimes I have to refill his bowl a couple of times a day with fresh greens as he finishes them off.

Hi, pretty little iguana. My yearling, Diego looks a bit bigger than that one and he was hatched in Oct. last year. He was actually a late bloomer and gained a lot of his weight in late summer/early fall this year and continues to eat and eat and eat. I will try and get some pics tomorrow of him on my hand. He is also very tame.
