can someone give me a basic diet for sulcattas, I am confused sometimes i read never give store bought greens, others say that is all they feed. I live in South carolina and have four fenced in acres. We have horses and goats. In the summer I understand he would graze all day but what about in the winter. just give me an idea on a basic diet for a medium sized tort. we want to rescue one. thanks jason

I'm not an expert, but my sulcata has been getting store bought greens for 5 years (since a hatchling) and he is about 20lbs and very healthy. I do rinse everything i give him. He does have his favorates...love bananas, rep-cal pellets, and many types of greens. He's kinda like a veggie disposal!

Good luck!

Hay and grasses are their native fare and should be duplicated in captivity!
