see if maybe she would feel more secure, and she did not seem to like it so I put her back on the floor.

I have several shallow containers of damp sand sitting in her favorite places. Maybe she will just reabsorb! Its late in the season.

Although I'm have a couple males tring to mount a female lately also. Think my reptile room is very very warm.

Everyone is feeling FRISKY!

lol, up until this year i always made sure my lizards were extra warm in the winter, as i did not want to have babies. i thought it would be too difficult, lol. now i let it be a little cooler under the non basking area. i have not seen kaiser mounting ivan this week so hopefully that was just a bunch of raging hormones that have now passed

I think Saige did that earlier this fall. She got huge, and her pink came out briefly, tho it never turned the full red it did when she had the last clutch. Plus Otis was just going nuts, bobbing his head like mad. She is skinny again, and I am thinking "brumation" before anyone else gets any ideas about eggs!

When she lays her eggs, and if two are little girls, it's Millie and Novia. No freaking doubt in my mind, lol.

Hope she lays soon, very pretty girl she is.

I hope she lays soon. She is pregnant because it was warm enough for them to think it was spring? Or did they just have a discussion about it and decide it probably was? LOL

Hey there,

Have you ever had a problem with a collared becoming egg bound? I had to have an iguana operated on once, so I was just curious if I needed to watch for that with the collareds, too.

She's a pretty thing you have there.

I thnak God have never had one in that condition, but some on here have. A forum buddy named HD had a pretty girl named Silver who was operated on, and he filmed the operation and showed us all later.

Another friend just lost his female this year also, JohnC lost his yellowhead girl

She went through alot and did well for a long time. But a died of unrealted problems a couple years later.

Always provide a nesting place for them is most important.

No problem. I understood what you were saying.

What materials do you provide the collareds for nesting?

In the corner of the tank I put 2 bricks in an L shape, 2 of the sides being the glass, but leave a little space for her to enter , fill the inside with about 3 inches of dampened sand.

And put a flat rock or piece of slate or something firm and flat on top as a roof. Show her the enterance several times so she knows how to get in.

If you have one that decides NOT to use her nest, try and dampen a pile of sand here and there so she has other options

You can also use a box with a hole cut in the bottom. I like the brick house best its kind of natural.
