Looking to get new beardies...but where to shop?

stilltraining Nov 27, 2004 09:49 PM

Hello all! Back in the summer of 02 I bought myself a nice gift to celebrate my high school graduation...a baby beardie! Well, recently due to unfortunate circumstances he passed away.....

Well, I've acquired a few snakes and a senagel chameleon since then, and now feel it's time to feel the joy of keeping dragons again. I have almost all the equipment needed (just the substrate and such needed) and am hoping I can talk to significant other into getting me a beardie or 2 (or 3 depending on price) for x-mas/my b-day. I have run into some recent problems with one of my snakes and my dog that stem from purchasing them from a pet shop, so I really wanna deal directly with the breeder for this.

So who would you recommend?

Thanx in advance,
Chris

There are lots of good breedersout there...more than I can name! Brandon from www.dragonsbynature.com is great my friends and I have bought a few from him, nice guy! www.dachu.com are very nice people, you can e-mail Sean from www.heartmountianherps.com to see what he has and also check out the link on Kakadu's post, she's got some beautiful dragons. Hope that gives you a place to start!

Good luck,
Marilee

Mike Shoemaker at furrylildevils@hotmail.com has some super nice babies... He crossed a hypo-pastel (clearnails) to a redflame greenie female and I have a couple of them and the male is just AWESOME! He doubles in color with everyt shed!! I would recomend givng him a hollar and seeing what he has left.

Also Brian Kastner at BK Dragons crossed some Cawley reds out .... really nice dragons.... don't know if he has any left from the Chris Allen cross but he has a clutch coming up now that he used a Dachiu line red to the Cawly! Should be super nice reds...

Later,
Robert

If I had the space for another set up I would buy one of those GORGEOUS Lemon Fire babies from beardeddragons.biz. My Fuego (who is a red flame) came from Fire and Ice Dragons. He is a great dragon. Super personalilty and pretty to boot.

I'm really not looking for anything special...like a sandfire or any of these other...I guess you could call "purebreds". In the future I will be, but for now I just have an empty cage and a void begging to be filled since I lost Brian (my first bearded). I've checked the sites I've been given so far but haven't managed to find quite what I'm looking for.

Try Lisa at Beginnerbasics.com or Tracey of Tracey's beardies they have some really nice normals and they are both super great breeders.

Thanks for all the help. A few more weeks and I should be the proud caretaker of several baby beardies ...will post pics of the set-up (should, if I can do what I plan, be awe-inspiring) and the babies when I can.
