New Rack

jtrott Nov 28, 2004 09:40 AM

Well, yesterday I took the day off and decided that I was going to build a rack. I ended up with a 4' monster melamine rack that will hold 48-6qt tubs. Total cost was about $115 including the tubs. Heavy as hell, especially when I had to move it up a flight of stairs to my 2nd floor apartment. Below is a link to the rack.

some vertical braces throught to prevent sagging. Maybe just sections of dowell rods or 1 bys, or something like that. The first rack I ever built was similar to that one (but deeper), and began to sag in the middle after about a year or so. Yours being shallower wil help, but you may want to look at that. Nice work!

I thought about that, and when I got it home, I put in all the tubs to help with the sagging a little. Also, when I get a back for it, I am going to screw the back directly into the shelves. Thanks for the suggestion though.
