Normal Growth Rate?

drkfantasy Nov 28, 2004 09:53 AM

As weight has more to do with being ready to breed and even final coloration would any of the more experenced breeders be so kind as to post the expected weight of Cresteds at given ages .Say 6 months, 9 months and a year? It seems that would be a good way to ensure cresteds are healthy and growing as expected. Most us us have such limted numbers we can only speak from our experence which may or may not be correct.

I have read that cresteds on Crested Gecko Diet grow more slowly that cresteds with crickets included in their diet.Is this everyones experence as well?

I have definitely noticed that geckos with crickets in their diets ALONG WITH the crested gecko diet grow a lot better than those just fed the gecko diet. At a local show/sale last spring, one fellow vendor had some cresteds for sale, and his seemed so small for their ages, and when I asked him what he fed, he said only gecko diet. I feed all mine under a year of age BOTH, crix once or twice per week, and gecko diet (actually GARGOYLE gecko diet to be precise) the other nights.
