Hey,
Where in Malaysia are you? You could be the first importer of these beauties to all of us out here in the US, awaiting imports of true Malaysian's. Something to think about. How did you get your bloods, were they caught by you, or were they caught by snake trappers for the skin trade or for food or any other thing you can think of?

Also, how mean are these guys in terms of their temperaments, do they have the typical blood attitude when caught wild, and have you been able to calm them down by working with them and handling?

And how close to the wild are you in terms of metropolis (city), or are you living near a farming community (rural) area, or forested area. Any description would be great. Thanks!

hi there! im very very sorry about the export things the malaysian government considered blood as endangered species. they are not allowed to be taken out of the country since two years ago. the reason is
1-there,s to many snake has been taken out of the country before
2-many of the chinese (sorry no offence to the chinese)prefer blood then retic.they said blood is more juicier yuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

now if you own blood without a licence you will be fined and your animal will be taken.

i live in selangor about 45 minutes to our capital city Kuala Lumpur.there are easier to ball here then blood at the pet shop.this hobby is new but growing and expending n not many shop sells reptiles and arachnids.

i get my first blood from one chinese who get it from a construction sites to widen the road. he wanted to eat it but i manage to ask him to sell it to me 2 years ago and about 3 1/2 fts at that time.now she is healthy 5 fts.fierce at first and take about less then 2mths to calm down.

the second blood the male i got it about 1 1/2mths ago. see how long i have to wait for my male to arrive.he from the different chinese who also wants to eat it. still from contruction sites but different area.but also nearby.he still fierce and strike everytime some1 near the aquarium.(here most of the snake keeper still kept their snake in aquarium because we dont have all the reptile cages supplies here.hehe)im kinda bz at this moment because the exam is just around the corner (im still studying full time)most of the blood baby available here in the shop are from us.some are from here.very limited.

most of the blood i find here are agrresive but will turn calm once they gat boring with people. for me it easier to kept them in aquarium and put it at the bz place of the room like near the door.at 1st he will strike and strike then later he,ll realize that it doesnt work.he will not eat for 2 week the most with me and my friend. when he started eating than taken him out and put it on the floor and try to touch him. that what i did and it works on me.handling is important the more you handle the snake the faster they bcome used to it.
most of the blood are coming out from newly doveloped area. some of they get crashed by the car when they tried to ran away from their old area that being develop into housing area or highway.original habitat for blood here are palm plantation, swamp area, rural area.it only takes about 40minute to reach the place where i get the first blood from my house.
anything else?

Hey,
That is a great story as I am sure others will agree. Unfortunately, we blood fans don't like hearing about blood habitat or other preferred niches, being destroyed for housing. And like most unexplored areas within their range those too will some day come into contact with the destructive powers that be (Man). How fortunate for you though and the blood that you just so happen to be coming by, when you spotted the Chinese man with the blood about ready to cook it up for his lunch.

I sure envy you though, having access to those areas to search for bloods in their native habitat. Well, keep up the good work and try as you might to save as many of our blood friends from the blood eating Chinese. Boy, they'll eat anything.

Send me your email. Thanks so much for the wonderful story and the good work. One other thing though, what kind of food are you feeding your blood and where are you getting your food from for feeding? The pet shop, or wild caught prey?

I think this is definately the most interesting story on the boards so far. I had no clue Chinese people were eating these magnificent snakes! Definately save some more if you can. I'm sure we can somehow help you get the materials you need. Angel seemed to just to your assistance already, but if you need anything else feel free to let us know!
