I was at a home repair store yeaterday and noticed some "garden windows" on sale. These are windows that go onto your house like other windows, but stick out, outside, a few feet and act as a mini-solarium for plants, etc.
I was thinking of buying one and making a CM cage for my boa. Of course, one side is open to allow for home installation, but that could be sealed up with treated plywood or something I would think. I like these windows because they're already equipped with easily opening, sliding screened windows (which would make neat doors into the cage.) I hate having aquariums, in which entry is from above.
The one I looked at was around $180.00 and was roughly 7' wide x 3' tall x 4' deep. It'd be the perfect size for a grown boa (mine is only 4.5' right now and still in a 75g tank.)
I like the idea of glass cages because I use a naturalistic motif; fake plants, a few climbing sticks, log hides and cypress mulch.
Any thoughts?
