Growth Rate

How fast hould my little guy grow if he gets as many minnows as he can eat each week? Normally he'll eat 3 sometimes 4 depending on how big they are... He's such a tiny bugger I wonder how he could grow to be a big snake...?

Under "normal" conditions your wee one would double it's length in the first year, About half again the second, perhaps a quarter the next and then less to maturity, continuing to grow more slowly from then on.
"Forced" growth as with an over-abundance of available food will drive it to maturity much more quickly (size dictates breeding status). If the critter does not succumb to obesity or other side effects due to over eating it will increase it's size to it's own genetic maximum whether that be a runt or a sea monster!

Sorry, had to run away there for a bit ...
My nerodia have all followed the above "formula for growth" except for the Mangroves I received from Pierson (on this forum). These where the smallest water snake babies I have ever seen, almost identical to a pair of Scarlet Kings I reared many years ago. However, the Mangroves have tripled their size!
As for your offering three, four fish at a go ... I think your doing the right thing. Babies should be fed well in any case and kept warm to assist digestion ... you see them every day, they are GROWING! In fact, if I where to feed them lots, I'd feed them many, rather than large.
