Are there two different types of Thayeri?

krestes Nov 28, 2004 05:10 PM

And if there is a kingsnake and a milksnake version, how do u tell the difference? I see them advertised differently in the classifieds.
Thanks for helping,
Ken

Thayeri are known as variable kings for a reason. They come in several phases..

thayeri (normal) phase - reddish blotches on gray background
buckskin phase - smaller blotches on a tan/orange background
milksnake phase - tricolored, banded looking snakes
black - solid black snakes
and probably other phases restricted to the hobby.
