The Old Cashier's Check Scam

CJBianco Nov 28, 2004 06:02 PM

I know all of you have run across this, and a few of you even mentioned a growing collection of Cashier's Checks on the wall. LOL I'm interested in starting my own little collection, and was wondering...

How safe is it for you to send them your real name and address? I mean, I'm VERY hesitant to do this, yet some of you have these collections, so obviously you give all the correct info. I don't expect them to sue me for not sending them the extra $6500 (again...LOL), but what if they really live within driving distance...

Thanks,
Chris =)

The "payment" comes from Nigeria via FedEx. I would not worry.

It's NEVER a good idea to send your real name and address especially if it's a scam. Have you ever heard of identity theft? Just make up a name and address if you're going to scam the scammer.
