pics from my new Minolta 7D DSLR......

chrish Nov 28, 2004 07:31 PM

Took my 7D to the zoo the other day to try it out. Here's a few pics (some non-herps, what can I say?).

All these pics were shot with a 3600HS-D flash used off camera in wireless mode (except the false gharial - that is natural light). No significant cropping or sharpening done...

Chris,

Excellent shots (as usual). A couple of questions:

1) Was that at the SA Zoo? If so, were the Quetzal and Aracari shots focused through the omnipresent wire mesh?

2) What lens(es) were you using?

Yes

No. The Aracari was behind glass and the Quetzal is "free-flying" within the bird house and quite easy to get pics of.

2) What lens(es) were you using?

For those shots, I used a Tokina 24-200.

Nice shots... I could tell they were taken through glass before you mentioned it.

You might want to try upping the contrast & saturation a bit to really help make those colours shine. With a good workflow, you can make those through-glass photos look like there's nothing there.
