lighting, and albino pines, question

Doug-P Nov 28, 2004 07:52 PM

I have a albino southern pine. I dont know what the best lighting is.
It is my understanding that all albino's are light sensitive. Are florecent lights OK?
Thanks in advance.
Doug

Doug,

while hypothetically the albino's of any animal is light sensitive, it normally is to direct sunlight. We have over 100 different albino animals of different kinds ( some as old as 17 years old)and have never experienced any trouble with normal incandescent lighting. I personally do not like flourescents as they distort the true colors of an animal, but some folks find the glow appealing. So I guess what I am saying to use your own preference guage what you use. Provide a hide box, clean water, proper temps and you will enjoy the animal for many years to come.
