It is, to my knowledge, perfectly legal to buy captive born Texas Indigos (from legal stock) outside the state of Texas. They can be hard to find, though.

If you are in Texas, I don't think you'll be allowed to keep them....

It is perfectly legal (unless there is some local statute)for you to keep any of the other drymarchon including Eastern Indigos.

You made my day! any one recomend some one that is a reputable breeder of indigos that are not texas indigos?

I know the feeling. My interest in Drymarchon was initially focused on eastern indigos but I live in FL. I'm now keeping blacktail and unicolor cribos and I just recently got some Texas indigo hatchlings and a Yellow tail cribo. They are all fantastic. Plus I have the slim chance of observing eastern indigos in the wild whenever I go herping so you can't beat that.

Check out the link for the breeder page on www.indigosnakes.com.
Eastern indigos are awesome but depending on your budget, a nice CB black tail or unicolor cribo is a great way to get into keeping drymarchon too. You may have some trouble finding CB babies this year because many of the drymarchon breeders ran into bad luck this year.
