Shedding problems

Jabbano Nov 28, 2004 08:56 PM

My young Cali king shed perfectly a couple of months ago. In the last few days, his eyes turned that milky blue--the sure sign of a shed, and then cleared up. Now I know this snake needs to shed but it has been three days since his eyes cleared up and still no shed. His skin feels very dry to the touch and I'm sure he is uncomfortable but still he refuses to shed. Is this normal/Is there anything I should do?

Be patient, thats normal. It should shed in the next few days.

Something you can do is to buy a spray called BioMist, made by T-Rex, and you can use this either every other week and mist your king to keep the skin moisturized, or when you see the eyes turn blue, spray every other day for the same reason, and this will aid in the shedding process. I Spray my king often during shedding, and all goes well. She never has "stuck" skin, and all comes off nicely. Hope this helps...

P.S. The spray is approximately $7 or $8 and you can find it at almost any pet store.
