Weird lump--please help!

mdc Jul 01, 2003 04:14 PM

Hi,
I have a two year old female het albino. She is about 4.5 feet long and pretty lean. Well, about a week ago she started her shed cycle and all was fine. Last night she finally shed, so today I took her out to make sure she got it all off. I noticed a rather large lump, about the size of a pea, on her side just above the vent. It is somewhat soft and almost feels like there is fluid in it. Now, it is possible that this started more than a week ago, but if it did - it wasn't very big because I certainly didn't notice it. So it must have grown quite a bit in the last week. Any ideas what it could be. I'm going to make a vet appointment right now, but I thought I would see if anyone here had any ideas also.

Thanks for any help,
Matt

It could be a bug bite.
I just had an attack by something (spiders I think) come thru and they bit up half my collection. So, even though I have no mites I sprayed pro vent a mite in the cages and all around, even the walls, carpet ex. I have not seen anything since. I have seen a few blond spider dead though. I don't recommend going that far but that might be it though. If it gets bigger take it to the vet. Better to be safe than sorry!
