6 Month Old With Eggs

kakadu Nov 29, 2004 12:11 AM

I just wanted to share this with this forum, its been well discussed on the other forum.

This is for those people who are allowing your male and female dragons to grow up together seperate them early!

Watch for signs of eggs in your young dragons:
big appetite with a sudden loss of intrest.
agitation, digging
signs of impaction often accompanies eggs.

If they had contaced me about the dragons strange behavior I probably would never have though it could possibly be eggs. I would have told him she was impacted most likely. This AWSOME dragon could have been lost if she had not decided to lay the eggs in her tank!!! I don't want others to make this mistake. If your young dragon is showing these signs she could have eggs!

She has never been with a male. These eggs are all infertile. She is not housed where she can normally see males. The only time she even say a male was during all the hurricanes when her family had to leave their house for awhile (they lost their roof).

Oh, I forgot to add. She is the first dragon I sold this season. She was one of my little babies. She was hatched in June 2004. Her name is Sienna. 6 months...

OMG...that poor little thing. How scary it must have been both for her and her owner at such a young age. Thank God she decided to lay them and wasn't egg bound. I am amazed.

This is definitly proof that males and females should be separated early, or better yet never housed togethere at all!

(BTW, Kakadu (Is it Jen?) - she's gorgeous! What's her bloodline?)
