My Ball Python Caught a Cold?!

raptorman Nov 29, 2004 12:27 AM

Hey, I've had my ball python for about 3 months now, been eating every week a feeder mouse, is very docile, and explores his ENTIRE cage everynite, but recently, he has been sneezing. And one time he sneezed a bunch of snot on my arm, it was really nasty, but wut can you do. Does my Ball Python have a cold, he seems tobe a bit more sluggish, but not much. Do I need to raise the heat and humidity in the cage? Any suggestions? Thanks

David

Sounds like your snake has a respiratory infection. I would make sure you are providing the correct temperatures and humidity. Respiratory infections are usually an indication of temps that are too low. I would suggest checking the temps, probably raising them, and taking your animal to a vet to get it an official diagnosis and some antibiotics.
