taming red bloods

pythonis Nov 29, 2004 01:02 AM

what is the best way to tame a red blood python? i picked up a baby blood about 2 weeks ago at the atlanta reptile show and the little spaz has been biting left and right. should i wear gloves at all times when handling or is the only way to get it calmed down just to let it bite my bare skin constantly until it gives up? i was told it was a cb but it acts like more a wc from what ive read about them.

Yes definately try the glove approach if your having problems. Bloods tend to strike from fear and stress. And any snake will usually be a little nippy when there little and in a new home. How do you have the little guy set up? If you make him more comfortable he might calm down a little sooner as well. How big is it? And where did you get him from? I think I saw most of the bloods at the Atl show and knew the people who were selling them, so I could probably tell you depending on where you got him from. Also where in GA are you? I'm in GA as well so if you need further assistance or something let me know, just send me an email.
