I'm concerned about my russian ,I know they hybernate in the wild but mine is in a controlled enviroment thatnever gets that cold .the only reason i'm not freaking out rightnow is because he /she ate like a pig before it passed out its been almost two monthes and it hasnt budged i check on him every day but i don't think its normal other than that there are no visible signs of a problem.should i go ahead and take him to a vet? thank you for your time

are you watching the weight of your tortoise? if it hasn't eaten in two months AND it has been in warm temps, it may be losing a substantial amount of weight -- which would not be good.

more importantly, your tortoise could be becoming dehydrated if you're not giving it regular soakings.

a vet visit is not a bad idea. in the meantime, make sure it's properly hydrated. visit russiantortoise.org for additional tips and a good care sheet.
