How do you keep your pets? here's mine...

Antegy Nov 29, 2004 07:37 AM

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering what other people's pet rooms look like, and what kind of setups people are using. So, if you would, please share some pics of your place and how you keep your pets.

Here's my 'reptile room'.

Notice the white PVC pipe running along the wall above and behind the cages - that's for the active ventilation. I have three Vision cages, and one Cages by Design cage; each of which has it's pro's and con's. The hex tank off to the side is for a small semi-arboreal snake. The tripod in front of the cages is holding my webcam. You can't see it (because I was standing in it to take the photo) but there's also a 'sandbox' in there for them to climb/play in.

Here's a detail of the cages:

Thanks for looking, and please share!

Active ventilation is different from a simple 'open pipe' that allows air to escape in that it employs a blower (small fan) to force air to the exhaust. It ensures that air moves in only one direction (keeping fresh air coming into the cages, and preventing cold air from outside from getting back into the room).

Do you ever have problems maintaining humidity or does the snake room itself have good humidity?

I actually keep the entire room humidified to about 60-70% typically.
