My sliders need a home

IvanTheTerrible Nov 29, 2004 09:41 AM

Hey everyone - it's been a while since I've been on here. I rescued two sliders some time ago, and now they have outgrown my tank, which is as big as I can fit in my apartment. I'm hoping some in the local NJ, NY area could give them a home. They are healthy and have been very well taken care of. I'll give away everything I have including the tank, stand, lights, filter, THE WHOLE PACKAGE. I'm not interested in making any money... just want my turtles to have a good home.

If anyone is interested please email me at iruiz@mww.com or call me at 2017764922.

Thanks in advance,
Ivan

I hope you find someone. If you don't, I live in northern NJ and could take them, but I am not sure where I would put them, and my husband might kill me

We are putting in a pond next summer, but they would have to live in tanks until then. How big is the tank and the turtles?

Are they boys or girls?

Hey thanks for responding. Not sure what sex they are. It's a 25 gallon long tank, I think. They seem ok for now, but will def need something bigger. Question: I'm in northern jersey too - and it gets pretty cold. If you have a pond, what do you do with them in the winter?

Anyway, if you are interested, I'll drop them off wherever you are, or yu can pick them up.

Let me know, and get back to me about the pond.

Thanks,
Ivan

The pond would be for the summer, we will bring them in for the winter, probably get a stock tank or something. My guys right now are in a 55 gallon tank. They are both about 4 inches long, so they could use something bigger, but they are fine and healthy.

How close to Newton are you?

I'm about 45minutes east of Newton - actually know the area pretty well. I grew up going to a campground in Andover called Panther Lake. Anyway, I'm considering keeping them over the winter and maybe making them a "year-round" pond in the yard so I won't have to worry about not having space inside. Have to think about it - but if you are willing to take them in, let me know so I can think about it.

Thanks,
Ivan
