At what size can I put my young map in with my nine inch red eared slider?

Hi,
My red-ear lives in a 200 gallon oval stock tank. My young map turtle is about 3inches long and swims really well. I would like to put them together but I don't want my map to get eaten. I would feed them separately and add a separate basking spot and hide places. Any opinions or experiences welcome.
