Bullfrogs impossible to find! Where are they?

Snakey Nov 29, 2004 04:28 PM

I have been searching and searching all over for regualr old American BUllfrogs. Do any of you guys know where to get some tadpoles or preferably the forg itself?

No one sells or carries them. You used to find them EVERYWHERE and I can't find not one.

Can you set me up with a breeder or a distributor of some bullfrogs. All these african varieties and what not are not really what i am after. I am not really in tune with frogs to spend $100 on one. I want just a regular ol' cheapo bullfrog so I can put in my new setup as I have been wanting one of those for a while... Just havent found any anywhere.... When I was a kid you could go to the local pond and catch them all day long. Now they are apparently gone, frankly.....

Thx for you help.

I'm in CT, and bullfrogs are no problem to find here.
Nor are tadpoles. Try a store that sells pond fish.
You should be able to find them there.
I will add...November is not the time you'll find them.
Look again in May. At least thats when you'll find them here in CT

So in other words, I can't get ahodl of a distributor out of like Florida or something and get me a couple tadpoles?

Where do they get them from. The distributor ALWAYS can get them. I spoke to a store around here and he said during this time of the yr they are small and in summer are bigger....

SO I need to find out where they get them... I need me a couple bullforgs...

Hell' I'll be happy with 1 or 2...

Does it matter to you if they are the ones from south or the northern ones? I live in Florida and the ones from down here are more spotted than the ones up north. If you can provide the shipping charge, I could send you a couple. They are still very active down here. I went out last week and caught a 5" male and a couple of tadpoles. I also caught a large southern leopard frog and a baby peninsula cooter.
