My 6 month old eats small crickets and silkworms so there is no impaction problem. All day today while basking he has been gaping (normal) but looking up right into the light. Anybody ever seen this before?
Thanks
Chris

Is he looking straight up to the point it looks like it would be painful on the neck? If so this could be something called "stargazers' disease. Typically this can be solved with multi-vitamines or injection from a vet. Do a search on stargazers disease on the forum to get more information.

What are your temps? It could also be that s/he is too hot and is gaping his/her mouth open to try to cool off. I'm not ruling out the "stargazers desease" , but being too hot is also a possibility. Your basking temps should be 105-110F, incase you didnt already know. Hope i helped.
