I prefer a more slender snake. Those Bloods get pretty chunky and though the patterns and heads are beautiful (those Black Bloods are gorgeous!), I am not comfortable with big rotund (to me
) snake. Some of those Bloods look like they eat rabbits, and I'm not ready to stock a freezer full of rabbits either- rats, no problem. From what I've read, Bloods require a very humid environment.
My Coastal Carpet is moderate in all of her requirements, food, humidity, temperature, and won't take my whole face off if she gets pissy.

I like the bloods better. They are beautiful, impressive snakes with a fun little attitude. I keep both bloods and carpets. Carpets are great too. Heck I like all pythons.
i have both types and as far as temperament i like the jcp but the blood i think is much prettier. however the blood is very nippy as the jcp only hit me once. the bloods will actually bite until you tame them

I find that red bloods are a bit nippy, but that borneos are dog tame snakes. Their feeding response is not to be underestimated, but they are otherwise very trustworthy - more so than the other bloods or jcps in my experience.

One must remember that Bloods are ambush predators. So, when entering ones stupid hand into the habitat of an animal that likes to eat whatever passes in front of it an ambush, one must be careful. So far have every one of my bloods tame other than on aggressive Sumatran Male. The thing about bloods is they do not have fabulous eye site and don't like to move much. So the whole handling thing does not thrill them. However with time and proper care they can be rewarding and less the monstrous animals.

What does a mandoda king look like. Post a pic if you can. Thanks.
By the way quite an impressive list of snakes you keep.
Thank you, I will post the pic ASAP. I am getting a new digital camera sometime this week since my last one broke. Mandoda kings look similar to the Fresno King. That animal is actually quite rare. Its black and cinamon with a pattern most similar to that of a gopher, but its full blooded king. Most of this animals habitat is now crop dusted farms, so to my knowledge it mainly exsists in small circles among king snake enthusiasts. The King Snake breeder that works for my website could go on hours about them, but I will simply post a picture ASAP.
