I just aquired two of the most beautiful girls from a kid who did not take care of them at all!!! They now have metabolic bone desease, advanced stages.
They are in kept in a seperats cage and in a completly different room away from everyone. They had so much shed on their little feet that I think they thought had webed feet!! They are now enjoing their little toes again. They were kept in a plastic zip lock container 6"X4" and 3" tall. They had cut out part of the lid and installed screen with a hot glue gun, had sand in it and a rock to help them shed, no water was present. They said they gave them calcium on the crickets only once a week if that.
THE PET STORE SOLD THEM TO THEM AS BABIES AND SAID THEY CAN LIVE IN THIS THEIR WHOLE LIFE!!
Oh my god!! So now it is like picking up noodles or spagettie. They can get around but they waddle and can not stand, they do not have full use of their arms and legs, and their jaw is rubbery so i have to help them eat.
They are receiving liquid calcium twice daily and alot of TLC. One of the females is now starting to be able to stand on her front two feet. Thank heavens for small miracles.
??? So is their anything else I can do for them and is their anything I can suplement them as far as food goes, they have a hard time chewing almost anything due to their jaws are still really soft.
I know this is lengthly but if anyone can give me more info I would really appricate it greatly. Thanks for reading. I can only hope for the best for these two girls.
By the way one is 7" long and the other 5" in length.
