why do they lay on there side or backs?

Normally they will do that to digest a big meal...or any meal for that matter. Females will do it as well when they are gravid....

one female I have that has been doing this is 2650 grams and has breed a few months ago. and the other female is only 500 grams and is a slow eater and is on her side now but has not eaten for two months. temps are 80 to 103 over her heat tape in rubbermaid slide box.

Your high temp is too high, she will end up burned sitting over 100F. You need to get a dimmer switch so your hot spot stays around 95F.

The temps are way too high!
Get a dimmer to regulate the temps and you should be fine...

they are fat enough to roll around to feel good......

males do it..females....they just roll any which way feels good....

yes to warm spots...yes to relieve pressure from fecal matter , meals,or eggs /follicles being created too.....

....all these reasons
