I just moved my 5" RES into a 55-long tank. In the tank I had her in before, the two heat lamps plus the southern california weather kept the water warm enough. But I'm finding that with this new large tank and winter setting in my new house here in San Francisco, the water is kinda cold.
So I'm just checking for some suggestions on what kind, or even better, what brand I should get for the tank. And also any suggestions on additions to my set up. I rescued this RES from a guy I met in the dorms during college less than 2 years ago. She was pretty beat up when I got her. She looks a million times better now. I just want her to have the best she could possibly get from me.
Setup:
55 gallon long tank filled with 11" of water
medium pond rocks on bottom
large basking branch
small floating dock
Fluval 204 filter
4' UV florecent light
50w heat lamp
