Realistically, how long could a young beardie live in a 20L tank? I know they need a much larger life style eventually but I'm looking at this as a starter tank...until I get my 250G set up next year

honestly better make the opinion for 2 dragons...I'd like to keep a couple of little girls together once the bigger tank is done and don't want to worry about introduction issues

if you have two BDs, you can make sure they're female once they're 10" long or 6 months old... either of the two if one isn't showing anything.

so if you have two 10" beardies, they'll only be living in the 20g tank for a month or two, then you have to up it to a 75g.

and wow you have a lot of pets!

I've never understood this and I may be missing something...

The numbers you have listed next to the names of the pets are indicating how many you have...but there are different orders.

For example: 0.3.0 dogs (3 dogs)
2.0.0 frogs (2 frogs)

Why not have the 2 in the middle like the 3 is for the dogs? I'm not critizing, just confused why everyones lists are like that...

When I made my list, I just typed in the number and it came up like a normal number (3 dogs, 2 cats, etc...)

I would an explination as to whether I did it wrong!

a 20 gal tank for two bearded dragons wouldn't last very long. pretty much once hte dragon are 10-12" long, they both need a new home. There really isn't any accurate way to sex bearded dragons that young without either trying to 'pop' the male, which can be dangerous for him, if not done correctly (no clue how it is done correctly so I certainly wouldn't even try it).

I kept my first bearded dragon in a 35 gal tank for about 3 months before moving her into her large 5'x2'x2' cage. SHe was 8" long and about 3 months old when I bought her, about 15" when I moved her into the larger tank. I wasn't really sure of her sex till she was 6months old and over 12".

Also keep in mind that even if the dragons get along fine and are both females, they may have a difference of opinion later on and no longer be able to stay together. I would suggest keeping them separate in two 20 gal tanks till y our 250G tank is ready. Then divide the tank in half, one for each dragon. A 125G tank is more than large enough (if it is more long and wide than tall) for a single adult dragon. Heck, you could keep both in one half if they get along, and separate if they turn out not to be good friends or male/female or both male.
