Are there any markers for Womas

billcherep Nov 30, 2004 08:47 AM

I see Nerd and a couple of others have Woma Ball's for sale. These are hets for leucistic right? Are there any differences in these besides the obvious extreme reduced pattern. I can see it very easy for someone to pass off a reduced as a woma.

Well personally if I were going to purchase one it would have to be from a proven line that is verifiable. I have a female right now that is so close to a Woma but I would not sell as a definite Woma until she proved out if I keep her.

I believe there were originally a few types of Tigers. One was the Woma Tiger. NERD proved out another morph dubbed the Woma Ball -- Heterozygous Pearl (Pending). Hence, Woma Tiger and Woma Ball are two distinct animals. One is worth a few hundred dollars, and one is worth tens of thousands of dollars.

The Woma Ball has crazy Spider-like markings across the head, along with (usually) orange coloring along the sides and head. I believe they also have the white Spider-like belly, too. Very similar to the Spider...only darker in color.

I've seen a "Woma Ball" advertised on KS for a considerable chunk of change, but unless they have the NERD paperwork behind it...I wouldn't buy it. It looks nothing like a Woma Ball to me.

Just my opinion.

Hope This Helps,
Chris
