white, fuzzy mold=dead egg?

Dove Jul 01, 2003 05:48 PM

so i finally got an egg from one of my females, she hasn't laid an egg since before April. i only got one egg. plunked it in the incubator....

its only a week old but it keeps growing white feathery mold. its candling yellow, which i know can be an indicator of an infertile egg BUT it is very plump, no dents, and very full and has gotten larger.

ideas? any would be great!

thanks
Dove

its probably infertile. if it's yellow and molding so fast, thats never a good sign.

White mold means they're goners. That is usually what my infertile eggs get.

It's proberly infertile BUT!! THERE HAVE BEING MANY EGGS THAT HAVE BEING MOLD INFESTED AND SPAWN HEALTHY BABIES!! The mold might be because of the humidity. Make a solution 1 part bleach and 3 parts water quickly dip the intire egg into it and take it out But be carefull not to tilt it or to keep it in over 1 sec. The mold should go a way for a while. If it keeps on coming back itia proberly infertile.
