Evening all,
To all those of you that have dealt with hatchlings, a quick question... Is there ever a mark left on the snake by the attachment of the umbilical cord?
Thanks,
Cat.

Cat,
...Baby snakes have a small crease across a couple of their belly scales where the umbilical was. These usually are gone after 3 to 6 months on Rainbow Boas. I have seen them on snakes as old as one year on some other species. Very very rarely the umbilical wound becomes infected before it closes on baby snakes and the wound can leave a much larger scar.
