We have a tank set up but it doesn't seem right for the newt. My son also would like to know when the newt will eat? We have had it a week and haven't seen it eat. We feed it newt pellets and bloodworms.

Here's my rather elaborate setup. However, I kept newts for over 10 years in tank w/o a filter, just some decorations to get out of the water & hide under. I just did a complete water change when the water got nasty. Now I have this w/ 2 filters, a waterfall & live plants. So you can be really elaborate or really simple w/ the set up & they'll do fine either way. I don't know about the eating. I'd say he/she is likely eating when you're not watching. What's your setup like?

Thank you for the picture, nice set up. My set up is 1/2 rock and 1/2 water, separated by plexy glass. Not a very good one. I am going to redo the entire set up.
