cage lighting question

shandar5 Nov 30, 2004 03:59 PM

We are having a cage cage built that is 4x2x2 and our question is will we be able to heat it with the basking bulb on the outside or should we have it mounted on the inside? It will be made of melamine. We are worried about space on the inside and getting our little friend close enough to the uv light with the basking bulb on the inside

Thanks for any help

first I would highly suggest not putting anylight inside a cage that could come in direct contact with any animal, it's just too easy for them to get burned. On top of a screen is perfectly fine. You may need to try a few differrent bulbs to get the temps just right. Things to climb on etc. are great to give them a natural wayy to regulate.
