Best room in the house?

AtelerixMel Nov 30, 2004 07:37 PM

I'm graduating college! Yay! But I don't have a job. Boo. So I'm moving back home.

My bedroom would be a nice, low traffic area for Diesel's cage, BUT, it's fricken cold in there. It's on the north side of the house and the heat doesn't reach it too well. I'm thinking of wrapping blankets around 2 or 3 sides of the cage and adding another heat lamp, but I don't know if that will be sufficient. Would it be okay to use another lamp further down the side of the cage to heat it? Or should I opt for a higher traffic/slightly warmer room? We have a puppy and a cat, so it can be kind of crazy.

Being a firefighter all I know is: blankets heatlamps cats, and dogs = PROBLEM...lol My suggestion would be to monitor temp with a thermometer and change as necessary, you may find that night temps are so far out of range, a house closed up will maintain a decent temp at night..

Well cats and dogs would not be allowed in my room if the cham was kept there. The other rooms in the house they both have free range of though.
