Bedding/tank setup

derekb Nov 30, 2004 08:45 PM

Well I am a new corn snake owner. A common corn. I have had him for 4 months. He seems to be doing great. Eats good and has grown good. Anyway. My questions are these. I have him in a 10gal fish tank. He is about 34" long. What size tank should he be in? What type of bedding is best? My tank set up is a Large hidding place, with under tank heater on same side w/ a light. About an inch of bedding. And large water bowl on the cool side. What if any changes do I need to make.

Thanks

i house my 2 corns in 20 gallon long tanks.(supposedly 20 gallon long tanks are ok for an adult unless they get big like 5-6 foot) they are doing fine in that size. both about 2 year olds. i have the UTHs on both with a light on same side. couple of hides, one on warm side and one on cooler side. water bowls. fake plant. i have been using reptile bark but am thinkin of try the aspen that every raves about. my corns are doing great. eating and shedding like snakes do.
