this is only a question, i dont want any one to jump down my throat, as ive seen people do on there forums. from what ive seen you are good people, and i havent seen any of that on this forum. but any way the question... given the apropriat size enclosure, can i keep 2 jcps(male and female) togeather at a young age? echo, is my female, shes about 5-7 months old. if i got a male the same age, or just a little younger, would they be safe togeather?

A male and female should be ok to house together for a while. Carpet males can be combative towards each other if housed together especially in the presence of a female but a pair could most likely be housed together. I would recommend keeping them seperate to more readily facilitate breeding later. I've found that snakes housed seperately show more interest in each other when housed seperately and only brought together once cooled and prepared for breeding. If breeding isn't something you plan on for the future then housing them together in an appropriately sized cage should be fine. I would also recommend that you keep a close eye on them and make sure there is no combative behavior and one is not dominating the other to the point of causing extreme stress. In some species this will cause one or possibly both to stop feeding. I'd say go ahead and give it a shot but be prepared to seperate them if it does become a problem.

I keep my pair of IJ's together....no problems here....

hahaha, muahdib4, you just told me the basics of keeping snakes togeather. lol. thanks. i aready kne all that stuff, and was prepared for it even if someone told me that it was absolutly safe. i was worried about things like feeding reactions, like seen in many green tree pythons, and brazilian rainbow boas. that was my main concern, so again, i thank you. and jason, also thank you.
