Suwanee River King

snakesunlimited1 Dec 01, 2004 12:13 AM

I have a adult male Suwanee King that I picked up last season and I have not been able to find a female yet. So the obvious questions is who has them. I had heard that Kevin Enge had them and in fact was told that the male I have was from him. When I asked him he sent me to someone else and they sent me to someone else and they sent me to Kevin Enge. This as you can imagine is kinda frustrating. I have spent a year going in circles. Can somebody help me PLEASE. The male is cool enough to be a pet in my collection and nothing else but babies would be even cooler. I will post a pic of my male later cuz he is eating right now and I am not a inhander.

let me know!!! I also have a male and can't seem to find a female. 10-15 years ago, they were apparently plentiful around the Jacksonville area. I've heard stories of collectors catching 20-30 in a day, which is probably why they're hard to find now. All the growth in that area probably hasn't helped much either. I actually bought one of Bluerosy's Florida/Eastern intergrades this year, as the yearlings he showed have a Suwanee King look to me. I figured it might be the closest I could come to finding a girl for my boy. I do have several friends in the Jax area who are on the lookout for me. If I come across any, I'll let you know.

Curious to what he looks like. I believe I had a few Suwanee kings years ago, a group of 1.2 that I bought as Florida kings. I sure wish I still had them, the male I had was huge, probably over 6'. Unfortunately, he never fed for me. I hope to someday get another group of them.
