Layout for Veiled?

dragunzfyre Dec 01, 2004 01:45 AM

I've been checking some stuff out on the forums and apparently, reptariums aren't a good idea to keep chameleons in. It seemed like a good idea when i bought it, but after thinking more about it, i regret it. I just bought a house, so i'm kinda financially tight right now. I'm not a master carpenter or anything, but i know a little about the subject. Does anyone have a good layout with specific dimensions of their home built screen cage for their chameleon. By the way, I won't have my chameleon for aoubt 3 weeks, so i have a little time to build it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the new set-up I am in the process of creating are much like the "chameleon cages" being sold. All they are are screen frames(like you have in your house) built to any size, build 4 the same size ( 4 sides), build 2 smaller sizes (top and bottom) then screw all together to form the entire cage. The screen frame is pretty cheap like 3.50ish for 10' at home depot, but I'd use alumnium screen so bugs don't chew thru it, but alum. screen is a pain in the A** to screen. So you will have to decide, fiberglass is easier, but you may have to rescreen every now and then..
