sand in my cage

bjpool Dec 01, 2004 04:27 AM

I am setting up a cage for a new bp. Is it possible to use "playground sand" from the local Lowes down the road, or is it necessary I use expensive "pet" sand from the pet store? If anyone could help me out I'd really appreciate it. thanks

You shouldn't use any kind of sand for you ball pythons! The best three or most commonly used substrates for ball pythons are:

Newspaper
Aspen
Cypress Mulch

and sometimes Carefresh.
