Yugi, Malis Uromastyx

MHelm Dec 01, 2004 01:27 PM

I've had Yugi for a little over a month, no problems until 3 days ago. I noticed it's head is tilted. When I handle him, he turns over and over in my hand for a few seconds. When I put it down it goes in circles for a little while before walking straighter. It doesn't try to bite when I pet it's head, thinking it kinked it's neck or something? I'm not confindent with my vet, and actually his office is closed right now, so, I hope there is someone out there that is familiar with Malis Uro's to give me advice as to what to do. What may be wrong? I don't think it's a bone problem, we give it natural and uvb light, excellent diet, fresh food daily with vitamins. Please email me if anyone has any idea what could be wrong. He isn't even dyhydrated, fairly plump still, skin looks great. Just acting like it lost it's equilibrium.

It may be an inner ear (tympanum) infection that is affecting the equilibrium. I would suggest to raise your temperatures in the caging about 10-15 degrees higher than Uro recommended temps and to have a vet address the problem ASAP.
Goodluck
