CRICKETS running all over the floor , under baseboards, up the walls in the corners of room, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Like freakin candid camera, Eve scrambling all over the floor trying to grab a few hundred 1/4 baby crickets no less, like hundreds of

JUMPING BEANS * LMAO

Dang those baby swifts, its all their fault. They have wiped my breeding colony of small crickets out. They are non stop eaters.
I had to order 1000 1/4 crickets. I went to dump them and one of the big egg crate squares FULL of baby crickets fell onto the floor.

All I can say is THANK GOD I dont breed roaches for my reptiles, my Husband would have TERMINATED US ALL !

I'm hoping that many of these darn little buggers croak. Other wise I may as well let the lizards all roam free and just eat at will.
By the looks of what I have left, theres plenty on the floor somewhere. LOL

That was sure a fun way to spend my afternoon!

This is my biggest fear with my roaches... that I will drop them or have escapes and they set up their own colony in my house.

I'd much rather it be crickets!

LOL I have only occasional escapees. My Mother doen't let me keep crickets inside, (plus nobody here likes hearing crickets at night) so they are outside in a shed (occupying it fully) Its barely warm enough though, so I am not really successful. But I have some Black field crickets that I caught earlier theis season, and let me tell you, they are awesome! They don't eat each other, they don't worship filth, and they are more hardy than European crix.

I had a simular experience. I had just received an order two days before and my precious 7 month old pug dog, Sammi, turn the box I had them in on its side while I was gone.I came home and there was the top open and about one hundred crixs left inside. ARGGGGGGGH! I vacuumed right away. Now they stay in the basement where it is cooler anyway. No,fall oout yet and it's been about 1 1/2 months.

we certainly do live weird lives. walter's cage is really old and as soon as hugo can move in with helga, walter gets his new home but the one he is in now is just the pits. it is a screen cage and the crickets over time just have chewed tiny holes in it and now they can escape.
everyonce in a while i will be sitting here at the computer and i will feel something crawling on my leg. pre-lizards, i would have freaked out. now i know it is just a cricket! my favorite is when i go to put my bathrobe on after a shower and there is a cricket hanging out in it

I know some people think I'm weird--at least those who know my fondness for lizards think so. Sometimes I have to agree with that assessment, too.

Eve, you were just chasing crickets . . . I used to gleefully chase after cockroaches (the wild variety) just so I could see my collards chase after them even more gleefully. As a lizard keeper I too have overcome my unease with creepy crawly things. I think I am a better person for it! Moreover, I love the chirping all over the house; I feel like I'm camping all the time.

LOL My husband and I love the sound of the crickets! The reptile room (was a bedroom) and is the room next to ours. We only hear them when walking past at night to the bathroom.

But its like being out in the woods, so very cool. I have a couple thousand at one time so its LOUD!

People who come to visit, will say, Is that CRICKETS I HEAR?
Like we are some kind of WEIRDOS ahhahahah

LOL I say , I dont hear them , hahahaha !

HANG around with us Vonnie, hehehe literally!

I have passed out superworms to everyone, and hours later will see one climbing up the front of me, LOL just laugh to myself, and shake my head.

My husband does not like bugs to much, dont touch them, and hes a BIG BRUT of a guy too, Anyway a few times a week he will say Babe, theres a cricket in the tub, or come get this bug running down the hall.

OH, the whole thing just makes me laugh, kind of funny !

i don't feed superworms that often so they still kind of freak me out. i heard their bite can be pretty painful so that makes me wary.
also, cricket chriping drives me nuts! well, in certain situations. if i get one chirper in a group and he escapes into the wall or something and sings, that one chirp will drive me crazy. however, after a rainstorm or something along those lines, 1000's of chirpers do not bother me. now isn't that WIERD?

that one cricket chirping is different than thousands. If its just one it drives you nuts wondering where it is.
