I HAVENT HAD THE OPPERTUNITY TO WORK WITH DUM'S YET,BUT THEY ARE AMAZING BOA'S!I REALLY DON'T BELIEVE,SRY!That as far as heating goes that their is much difference,The bulbs you are referring too are night bulbs!Too be used at night time the red bulb lets off alot more light than the dark blue,or black bulb does!I would just use a regular soft light incadecent bulb during the day an at night switch them out!You do know that using these bulbs will burn out your humidity though so if your going to use them, keep an eye on your humidity!Hope this helps an if I am wrong would someone that has experience with dum's correct me please! Thanks Eric[HYPOBOA]

Both the moonlight bulb and the red bulbs will give off the same amount of heat in the same wattage. However, if you are concerned about either of these bulbs being seen by the snakes, play it safe and go with a ceramic heat emitter - they give off no light, fit into a regular light socket used for an incandesent bulb, and last up to 5 years. If you want to be able to see your animals in the dark, go with the moonlight bulb. It isn't as bright as the red, looks better and doesn't make everything in the cage look red. Hope this helps.------RON
