In the thread-convo I had with Giantrobo, I wanted to say that the mini-Can O' Crickets was a success! I didn't think it was going to work since my beardie refused the hibernating wax worm but attacked the hell out of it when it woke up and started moving.
At first, Cookie Monster didn't want to eat it. I used the long tweezers and once I got close, he closed his eyes. I touched his lips with the moist, sticky cricket and after he gave a lick, he opened his eyes and attacked it. He ate a few more and started roaming around the cage.
I noticed that he doesn't eat much at a time. Maybe a few greens & RepCal pellets and then about 6-8 three-week-old crickets at a time and then he's done. He'll eat again later, but the same amount. I just got my temp gun (woot woot!) and his basking temp is 105F, the hide under the basking branch is 87F, and the cool end of the tank is 78F. He's been drinking his water like a good boy should. He's about 4 months old... is that pretty normal?
Thanks all!
